It’s time for another Color Throwdown! Wanda is our hostess this week and she’s shared a festive color combination with us—Crumb Cake, Silver, Gumball Green, and White. I used the colors to create a new year’s card.
I used the current sketch from Retro Sketches and the new New Year Cheer set from Clear and Simple Stamps for my card. I embossed the “may this be your best year ever” sentiment in silver on a green cardstock panel. After matting the embossed panel on kraft cardstock, I adhered it to the center of a white cardstock panel.
I placed green and kraft panels on either side of the embossed panel, then added a pair of champagne glasses to the panel on the right. The glasses are from CSS’s Taglines: By the Glass set. To bring in a bit more silver to the design, I added a trio of silver sequins to each of the side panels. The finished panel is adhered to a kraft card base.
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD270.
Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team and our November/December guestie, Cindy Lawrence.
Materials Used:
New Year Cheer and Taglines: By the Glass stamp sets, Perfect Little Black Dress ink, Glamazon Green, Kraft Like a Rockstar, Sterling Silver, and A Blanc Check cardstock, Copic markers (YR30, YR31,Y32) (Clear and Simple Stamps); Encore Silver ink (Tsukineko); Zing Silver embossing powder (American Crafts); silver sequins (Michaels); foam tape
