Lots of Sparkle and Shine
This week's sketch from Freshly Made Sketches was a perfect match for the new Cover Prints 1 set from Clear and Simple Stamps. In fact, it worked so well that I put together two cards using the set and the sketch. I couldn't decide which one I liked more, so I thought I'd share them both.
Here's the first version. It's a super clean and simple take on the sketch. I stamped the set's snowflake image in silver ink on a white panel, then added the "sparkle and shine" sentiment at the bottom of the panel in VIP Purple ink. The center of each flake is dotted with a teeny, tiny bit of Stickles--and I managed to not smear a single one!
I matted the panel on dark purple cardstock for contrast. It's set on a light purple card base along with a pair of sparkly silver cardstock strips, one at the top of the panel and the other at the bottom.
And, here's the second version, still clean and simple but with a pattern added to the mix. It features the same snowflake image, stamped again in silver ink along with the sentiment in purple ink. This time, I layered the stamped panel on a piece of gray on gray dotted patterned paper. The panel is adhered to a dark purple card base.
So, I still can't decide. Any opinions?
Materials Used:
Cover Prints 1 stamp set, VIP Purple Ink, VIP Purple, Purplicious, Sterling Silver, and A Blanc Check cardstock (Clear and Simple Stamps); Stationery-Mushroom designer paper (Lily Bee Design); Encore Silver ink (Tsukineko); Star Dust Stickles (Ranger)

ReplyDeleteI like the 1st one better than the one with the silver piece of background paper. I do like the silver and purple combo though.
These are beautiful Lori! Hmmm...I do love the darker purple one the best! They're both fabulous though! I do like purple as a Christmas card! Thanks for joining us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!
