Rustic Peace and Joy
Here's my card for the current Curtain Call inspiration challenge. I took my inspiration from the wreath in the inspiration photo as well as the pretty bluish weathered wood background.
I made my own blue weathered wood background by stamping the wood plank image from Papertrey Ink's Background Basics: Farm and Barn set repeatedly on a cream panel in pale blue ink. I wish I had a light blue pigment ink--it would have worked a little better . . . I gave the edges an aged look by inking them with some distress ink.
The wreath image is from PTI's Wreath for All Seasons set. I stamped the wreath in green ink, then added the berries in red. To set it off from the background, I used a circle die to cut an opening in the card. I filled in the opening with the wreath, framed with a red circle. A red gingham bow adds another rustic element to the design. I used a combination of stamps from the Grand Ampersand set to stamp the "peace and joy" sentiment around the outside edge of the red frame in kraft colored pigment ink.
Materials Used:
Background Basics: Farm and Barn, Wreath for All Seasons and Grand Ampersand stamp sets (Papertrey Ink); Memento Summer Sky ink and Memento Luxe Pistachio, Rhubarb Stalk, and Toffee Crunch inks (Tsukineko); Antique Linen distress ink (Ranger); Desert Storm cardstock (Neenah); Real Red cardstock (Stampin' Up!); circle die (Spellbinders); red gingham ribbon; Bow Easy
