You Make My Heart Happy
Here's my card for this week's Wednesday Stamp Club sketch challenge from My Favorite Things. I used a wintery image with one of my favorite color schemes for this sweet card.
I colored the snowman from the Pure Innocence Happy Heart Snowman stamp set with Copic markers, then cut out the colored image. I used foam tape to adhere the cutout image to a light blue panel with a pair of torn shimmery white cardstock strips along the bottom. The torn edges give them a snowbank-like look. Once the image was in place, I stamped the set's "you make my heart happy" sentiment beneath the image in red ink. To fill in the empty space at the top of the panel, I threaded a pair of red buttons with white twine and used glue dots to add them to the upper right edge of the panel.
I used a scallop border punch to make a shimmery white scalloped strip to adhere to the left edge of the image panel. After attaching it to the panel, I adhered it to a red cardstock panel. I tore a strip of gray dotted washi tape at both ends, then layered it onto the panel, covering the seam between the scalloped strip and the blue panel. The finished image panel is adhered to a coordinating blue-gray card base.
Materials Used:
Pure Innocence Happy Heart Snowman stamp set, Electric Red ink, Electric Red and Steel Blue cardstock, Electric Red buttons (My Favorite Things); white cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko); markers (Copic); Sea Glass cardstock (Avery Elle); Shimmery White cardstock, scallop edge punch (Stampin' Up!); white twine (Hemptique); gray dotted washi tape; foam tape
