Hello Deer

Here’s my card for this week’s sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. The deer from Lawn Fawn’s Into the Woods set takes center stage here on my design.

Hello Deer-designed by Lori Tecler-Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn
Isn’t this deer just too cute? I colored the stamped image with Copic markers, then used the matching die to cut out the colored image. The deer’s tail is covered with a little bit of white flock—I couldn’t resist adding a little texture to it! I used dimensional dots to put the deer into a simple scene made from a piece of strip of green cardstock punched with a grass border punch set on top of a blue background. For the sentiment, I stamped the set’s “hello” speech bubble in green ink and die cut it, then adhered it to the panel.

I matted the finished scene on kraft cardstock. It’s set over a piece of green striped patterned paper topped with a trio of cardstock strips.

Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: Lawn Fawn Into the Woods stamp set, Into the Woods dies, and Into the Woods 6x6 paper pad, Crafter’s Companion ultrasmooth white cardstock, Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black and Memento Luxe Pear Tart inks, Sticky Thumb dimensional dots

other: Kiwi Kiss cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Sea Glass cardstock (Avery Elle); Desert Storm cardstock (Neenah); grass border punch (Fiskars); double ended banner die (Papertrey Ink); white flock (Stampendous)
