Watt's Up?
Here's my card for this week's sketch at Retro Sketches. I used the sketch's ray-like arrangement at the bottom of the card to frame a simple light bulb image.
My rays are made from several different yellow patterned papers. Arrangements like this seem like they should be simple, but it seemed like it took forever for me to get the pieces lined up to look right and to have the patterns mixed up on the panel, too.
Once it was done, I added the bulb from the Technique Tuesday Bright Idea set on top using foam tape. I colored it with Copic markers and brushed it with a light coating of clear sparkle from a Wink of Stella pen. I stamped the string that extends from the top of the bulb twice to get the length long enough to reach to the top of the light gray card base. The set's "watt's up?" sentiment is stamped alongside the string, instead of curved around the bulb.
Materials Used:
Bright Idea stamp set (Technique Tuesday); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko); white cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Soft Stone cardstock, Lemon Tart patterned paper (Papertrey Ink); clear glitter (Wink of Stella); foam tape
