Here's my card for the first My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club sketch challenge for 2014. Since it's the first MFT sketch of the new year, I thought that a celebratory card was in order.
Instead of stamping, I used a die from MFT's Accent It-Celebrate set to add a sentiment to the long panel that runs across the cardfront. I cut the word "celebrate" from a piece of green cardstock, saving the little pieces from inside the letters b, r, and a. I backed the open letters with a scrap of silver cardstock, then carefully placed the little pieces back in place. After edging the bottom of the panel with a turquoise strip, I layered it over a multicolored piece of patterned paper. The pattern looks like little sparkles--perfect for a celebratory card! A trio of sparkly silver sequins finishes the design.
Materials Used:
Accent It-Celebrate die (My Favorite Things); Limeade Ice and Hawaiian Shores cardstock (Papertrey Ink); white cardstock, silver sequins (Michaels); silver paper (Target); Day to Day 6x6 paper pad (Doodlebug Design)
