Merry and Bright

***Click HERE for my Season's Givings Blog Hop post/giveaway!***

This week’s blogger challenge theme is flourishes. Yes, I’m going back to holiday cards with this card, but it’s a publication call reject and I was really happy with it, so I thought I’d share it even though, like most of you, I’m so over holiday cards for now!

Merry and Bright-designed by Lori Tecler-Inking Aloud-stamps from Mama Elephant
I’m generally not a big flourish user, but here, they add an elegant touch to a simple design. I used some silver washi tape to adhere half of a paper doily to a dotted paper panel. The “merry and bright” sentiment from the Mama Elephant Polar Pals set was stamped on a red fishtail flag strip and attached on top of the silver tape. The images in this stamp sets are cutesy ones, but on its own, the sentiment works well on a not so cutesy design, doesn’t it? After all of the little bits and pieces were in place, I used a pair of crystal flourishes to accent a pretty die cut silver snowflake that I set on top.

Materials Used:
Polar Pals stamp set (Mama Elephant); Versafine Onyx Black ink (Tsukineko); Fine Linen cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Real Red cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Sterling Silver cardstock (Clear and Simple Stamps); Handmade Holidays 6x6 paper pad (Simple Stories); stitched snowflake die (Lil' Inker Designs); Fishtail Flag Stax die (My Favorite Things); clear crystal, clear crystal flourishes (Michaels); paper doily (Wilton); foam tape
