A Whole Lotta' Happy

Brand new stamps and dies from WPlus9 have just arrived at i {heart} papers! I used the new Whole Lotta’ Happy stamp set and the coordinating Whole Lotta’ Happy and Happy Trio dies for this card. The card is my entry for this week’s WPlus9 Step It Up themed anniversary challenge.

A Whole Lotta' Happy-designed by Lori Tecler-Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from WPlus9I used this week’s sketch from the Clean and Simple Stamping blog as the starting point for my card. The word “happy” was die cut from pink and gray cardstock, then layered so that the word were slightly offset to give them a faux shadow and add the appearance of dimension.

Once the word was in place on the white panel, I stamped the rest of the sentiment above and below it in gray pigment ink. It’s accented with a round balloon that I cut with dies from the Whole Lotta’ Happy set. I used the same layered die technique here and also added some dimensional dots behind the balloon to "step it up" even more. The balloon string is a piece of white twine that I wound around the tip of my paper piercing tool to get the fun, twisty look.  The top and bottom edges of the panel are dressed up with a decorative scalloped border made from pale pink patterned paper layered over pink cardstock matching the balloon and die cut word.
