Celebrating SCS's Love Fest with The Cat's Pajamas

The Cat's Pajamas is excited to be part of the SCS Member Company 2014 Love Fest.  Today is TCP's day to host a challenge and we're bringing you an inspiration challenge based on the three photos seen in the photo collage above.  You can be inspired by the colors, garden theme, or design elements--anything you see in the photos.

Congratulations-designed by Lori Tecler-Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from The Cat's PajamasHere's my card for the challenge.  It also doubles as an entry for this week's spring themed TCP Tuesday challenge.  I was inspired by the intricate pattern on the wrought iron fence and the bird houses to create this card with a nest as the focal image.

I made the 3-d nest with the TCP CutUps Rolled Nest die. Before I assembled the kraft cardstock nest, I stamped it with the nest image from the coordinating Nesting set to give it a textured look.  The nest is filled with a trio of eggs made from pink clay.

The background panel was stamped with the Lock and Heart Background in pink ink.  To bring out the pattern, I heat embossed the stamped image with clear embossing powder.  I brushed a little white pigment ink around the panel's edges for a soft look, then added half of a white doily on top of it.  The nest is layered over the doily along with a piece of knotted pink gingham ribbon.  I stamped the "congratulations" sentiment from the Simply Said set in kraft colored ink on a pale pink strip cut with the Easy Rosette dies.  I adhered it to the cardfront along with a rose colored strip, extending out from the edge of the nest.  A few sequins scattered around the card give it a little bit of sparkle.

To play along, create your own project inspired by the photo collage.  Upload it to the SCS gallery using the key word LOVEFEST2014E by March 3 at noon central time.  One winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to spend at TCP.  And, if your project has a spring theme, too, be sure to add it to the TCP Tuesday challenge link list on the TCP blog.  You can find all of the TCP Tuesday challenge details here.
