You Bring Me Joy

Here’s my card for the current Fusion challenge. I took my inspiration from the butterfly print and from the sketch to put together my design.

You Bring Me Joy-designed by Lori Tecler-Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Clear and Simple Stamps
I started off by using a cloud patterned impression plate from Clear and Simple Stamps on a piece of blue cardstock. The panel is edged at the bottom with a strip of die cut grass. A piece of pale pink grosgrain ribbon wrapped around the bottom of the grass strip gives the panel a nice, finished look. I adhered it to a pink panel in a nod to the pink color in the background of the inspiration photo.

I used the blue panel as a background for a die cut butterfly, die cut from a piece of dotted patterned paper to add some interest. I layered a second butterfly, cut from white vellum, on top of the patterned one. It was adhered only at the butterfly’s center so that I could gently fold the wings back for dimension. The butterfly was adhered to the card with a piece of foam tape. A piece of a clear crystal flourish forms a pretty flight trail extending out from behind the butterfly.  I stamped the “you bring me joy” sentiment from CSS's Butterfly Garden stamp set to the left of the butterfly in coral ink, then added a trio of sparkly pink sequin around the panel as an accent.

Materials Used:
Butterfly Garden stamp set, Coral Necklace ink, I’m a Princess Pink, My Style Blueprint, and In the Limelight cardstock, Butterflies 1 and Grass dies, Imprints Plate #3 Clouds/Sunshine (Clear and Simple Stamps); pink dotted designer paper (Lily Bee Design); pink grosgrain ribbon (Stampin’ Up!); clear crystal flourish (Michaels); pink sequins (Treehouse Studio); foam tape
