You're Tops in My Book

You're Tops in my Book-designed by Lori Tecler-Inking Aloud-stamps from Lawn Fawn
Here’s my card for the current Lawnscaping challenge to use dots and/or hearts on your creation. I combined the challenge with this week’s sketch from Freshly Made Sketches to create this love themed card with an interactive element.

You're Tops in my Book-designed by Lori Tecler-Inking Aloud-stamps from Lawn FawnMy interactive element is the image panel. It can be removed from the card and used as a bookmark. To make the bookmark, I folded the layered long fishtail flag strips and added tiny magnets inside of it that will hold the folded pieces together around the pages of the book—or, in this case, around the panel on the cardfront!

I dressed up the bookmark with the book image from Lawn Fawn’s Science of Love stamp set. The image was colored with Copic markers and cut out with the matching die, then adhered to the bookmark with dimensional dots. It gives it just a little dimension, but won’t keep a book from closing over it. I tucked the bookmark in place over the light blue panel that I carefully adhered over a dotted patterned paper panel so that there wouldn’t be any adhesive in the spot where I wanted the bookmark to fit. I had just enough room to stamp the “you’re tops in my book” sentiment next to it in navy blue pigment ink.

Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: Lawn Fawn Science of Love stamp set and Science of Love dies, Crafter’s Companion ultrasmooth white cardstock, Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black ink and Memento Luxe Nautical Blue ink, Carta Bella Rough and Tumble 6x6 paper pad, Sticky Thumb dimensional dots

other: Night of Navy cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Sea Glass cardstock (Avery Elle); Die-namics Fishtail Flag Stax and Fishtail Flag Layers Stax dies (My Favorite Things); magnetic tape
