Mahalo

Here's my card for the current Waltzingmouse Fanatics challenge.  I used the sketch's panels to create a simple beach scene for an easy to mail thank you card.

Mahalo-designed by Lori Tecler-Inking Aloud-stamps from Waltzingmouse Stamps
The two bottom panels are kraft cardstock with torn edges.  I brushed the pieces with with kraft and white pigment ink pads to give them a sand-like look. I layered the kraft strips, then added a piece torn edged vellum behind them--I was thinking that could stand in for water.  The strips were adhered to a light blue card base that I sponged with distress inks to create a cloud-filled background.

Once the panels were in place, I stamped the palm tree image from the My Island set in black ink over the layers.  The set's "mahalo" sentiment was stamped at the top of the card in orange pigment ink.

Materials Used:
My Island stamp set (Waltzingmouse Stamps); Soft Sky cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Desert Storm cardstock (Neenah); white vellum (The Paper Company); Memento Luxe Toffee Crunch, Wedding Dress, and Morocco inks and Versafine Onyx Black ink (Tsukineko); Tumbled Glass distress ink (Ranger)

  2. Loving the gallery - from alpine snow to summer sand! Great take on our sketch Lori - I love the torn craft sand, I actually thought you'd raided your other half's tool box for sandpaper ;-)
Thanks so much for joining the Fanatics again.
