Color Throwdown 290-Fly Away with Me

It’s time for another Color Throwdown! Tammy is our hostess this week and she's selected this pretty color combination—Basic Black, Cameo Coral, Cool Caribbean, and Barely Banana. Cool Caribbean just might be my all-time favorite Stampin’ Up! blue color, so I’m always happy to get a chance to feature it on a project!

I used the colors along with the current sketch from the Clean and Simple Stamping blog for this sweet, simple design. I cut three squares of striped patterned paper and matted each on a slightly larger Cool Caribbean square, then adhered the squares to a white card base. I filled each square with one of the birds from Lawn Fawn’s Hello Sunshine stamp set. The birds were stamped on scraps of cardstock and cut out, then attached to the squares using dimensional dots.

The “fly away with me” sentiment was stamped in the gap between the squares—it was a perfect fit! I added a different color enamel dot to each square for one final pop of color.

As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones featured in your project.  And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD290.
