Hoppy Easter
This week’s blogger challenge theme is Easter. I used one of the big eared bunnies from The Cat’s Pajamas for my card along with Lesley’s sketch for this springtime card.
I colored the bunny in the basket image from the Sugar, Sugar set with Copic markers, then added a little bit of grass around it to ground the basket. The colored image is matted on a celery panel, then adhered to a floral patterned paper panel. I machine stitched around the panel’s edges to add some definition.
I die cut a trio of contrasting fishtail flag strips using the banner die in the CutUps Easy Rosette die set and tucked the strips underneath the left side of the image panel, between the image and the mat. Yes, it’s reversed from the sketch, but I had to switch things around just a bit because the big eared bunny’s big ears got in the way! I stamped the set’s “Hoppy Easter” sentiment on a white cardstock circle, then layered the sentiment on a celery circle before adhering it to the top left side of the image panel with foam tape.
Materials Used:
Sugar, Sugar stamp set and CutUps Easy Rosette die (The Cat’s Pajamas); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko); markers (Copic); Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Southern Chicken Dumpling Soup-New Potatoes designer paper (Jillibean Soup); circle punches (EK Success); sewing machine; foam tape
