TCP Tuesday 264-Just Flying By

It's time for a brand new TCP challenge!  This week Nancy has created a fabulous sketch for us to work with.  In case you didn't see the big announcement yesterday, TCP is now starting to offer cut files to match some of our stamps.  You can find them here.  We're also offering this week's sketch as a free cut file here. This just might be the incentive I need to really get my Silhouette up and running . . .

Here's my card based on the sketch.  I used the new Flying By set along with a die from the new CutUps Framed Up 2 set on this one. I colored the image with Copic markers, then used a cloud template and an ink blending tool to add a cloudy backdrop behind the image.

Just Flying By-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from The Cat's Pajamas
I layered the colored image over a piece of patterned paper topped with a blue banner strip cut using one of the Framed Up 2 dies.  I love how you can use the banner die to make just about any size banner you want!  Instead of using a circle at the top of the image panel, I added a pair of white felt clouds, cut apart from a longer strip of clouds cut with the CutUps Cloud Border die.  I stamped the set's "just flying by to say hi" sentiment on a piece of white cardstock and matted it on a blue panel, then adhered it at the bottom of the image panel.

You have two weeks to play along with this challenge.  Be sure to link up your finished card using the linky widget on the TCP blog.  The challenge winner will receive $10 in Cat Cash--or $15 if the winning project uses TCP stamps.  And, each month, a Swanky Stamper is selected from among the challenge entries.  That lucky person gets a selection of stamps from an upcoming release and joins the Cat Pack for sneaky peeks and our TCP Pajama Party.  You can find all of the details on the TCP blog.

Materials Used:
Flying By stamp set, CutUps Framed Up 2 and Cloud Border dies (The Cat's Pajamas); Versafine Onyx Black ink (Tsukineko); Tumbled Glass distress ink (Ranger); markers (Copic); Bashful Blue and Brocade Blue cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Spring Moss and New Leaf cardstock (Papertrey Ink);  Macho Nacho Soup-4 Parts Hero designer paper (Jillibean Soup); white felt (Michaels)
