You Float My Boat

Here’s my card for the current sketch at CAS(e) this Sketch. I made a simple nautical scene with a wood veneer piece as the focal point.

You Float My Boat-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Avery Elle
I used two different pieces of blue cardstock to create my scene—a lighter blue for the sky and a navy blue, punched with a wave border punch, for the water. The wood veneer sail boat was adhered directly on top of the panels. I matted the scene with contrasting red cardstock, then adhered it to a white card base. It looked a little empty to me, so I added a die cut white felt cloud to the upper left corner. The “you float my boat” sentiment from Avery Elle’s Knotty stamp set was stamped just beneath the image panel in red ink.

Materials Used:
Knotty stamp set and Cherry ink (Avery Elle); Lake House cardstock (WPlus9); Real Red and Night of Navy cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); cloud die (Lil’ Inker Designs); wood veneer sailboat (Studio Calico); white cardstock, white felt (Michaels); Boundary Waters border punch (Fiskars)
