Color Throwdown 293-Smile Crocodile

It’s time for another Color Throwdown! Barbara is our hostess this week and she's selected this pretty color combination—Tangerine Tango, Soft Sky, and Pear Pizzazz.

I used the colors along with stamps from Paper Smooches to make a simple scene, which also serves as my entry for this week's Paper Smooches SPARKS "anything goes" challenge. I made a background using a piece of light blue patterned paper along with some strips of Soft Sky cardstock punched with a wave border punch. I filled in the scene with one of the animals from the Paper Smooches Zoo Crew stamp set. For the purposes of my card, I’m going to call the animal a crocodile. I used the letters in the Alphadots set to spell out “smile” to go with my crocodile.

To bring in a little orange to my design, I fashioned a simple sun out of a pinking edged circle die cut topped with a piece of orange patterned paper and adhered it at the top of the scene. I also added a narrow strip of orange cardstock at the bottom of my scene. It sets the panel off nicely from the green card base.
