Freshly Made for You

Here’s a classic, elegant card that’s perfect for Mother’s Day. It’s based on the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

Cameo Mother's Cay Card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Waltzingmouse Stamps
I used a pair of cameo themed stamp sets from Waltzingmouse Stamps to put this one together. I stamped the frame and cameo on cream cardstock using gray pigment ink, then used an oval die to cut out the finished image. It’s matted on a gray scalloped oval, then adhered to a pink cardstock panel.

After matting the long pink panel with gray cardstock, I layered it on a piece of pink dotted paper. I die cut a trio of fishtail flag strips—two cream and one gray. The strips are arranged beneath the cameo with the slightly wider gray strip extending just a bit farther than the cream ones. A strip of rose ribbon was adhered across the panel, tucked underneath the cameo panel and stretched over the tops of the fishtail flag strips, adding some texture while still keeping the card's design clean.

I stamped the “for you” sentiment directly on the dotted paper in the same gray ink I used for the cameo.  It's a little harder to see than I hoped it would be, but I think it still works.  I adhered the dotted panel to a cream cardfront, then added a trio of self-adhesive pearls to the cameo to form a simple pearl necklace to complete the classic design.

Materials Used:
Cameo Builder and Cameo to Go stamp sets (Waltzingmouse Stamps); Memento Luxe Gray Flannel ink (Tsukineko); Steel Grey and Bubblegum cardstock (My Favorite Things); cream cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Soup Staples II-Pink Salt designer paper (Jillibean Soup); oval and scalloped oval dies (Spellbinders); self-adhesive pearls (Michaels)
