Happiness Is

Here's my card for this week's Viva la Verve sketch challenge.  I combined the sketch with this month's "petals and wings" themed Verve Diva Dare.

Happiness Is card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Verve StampsFor the wings, I used a trio of butterflies from Verve's Blue Skies stamp set.  I stamped them on a scrap of watercolor paper, heat embossed them in black, then used distress markers and an aquabrush to color them.  After cutting each butterfly out, I arranged them on the left side of a pale yellow cardstock panel.  The "happiness is being with you" sentiment from the Treasured Words set was stamped on the opposite side of the panel in orange pigment ink.

For the petals, I used a piece of floral patterned paper.  It's edged with an orange die cut strip and wrapped with a piece of celery twill.  I adhered th panel to a melon card base, then added the pale yellow panel on top on an angle, tucking the bottom edge underneath the twill band.

Materials Used:
Blue Skies and Treasured Words stamp sets (Verve Stamps); Memento Luxe Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko); Fizz ink (Avery Elle); Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, and Ripe Persimmon  distress markers (Ranger); Melon Berry cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Orange Fizz cardstock (My Favorite Things); Barely Banana cardstock, Certainly Celery twill, black embossing powder (Stampin' Up!); The Sweetest Thing-Tangerine 6x6 paper pad (My Mind's Eye); Connected Circles die (Lil' Inker Designs)
