So Happy for You

Here's my card for this week's Viva la Verve sketch challenge.  It's also my entry for Verve's current Font Focus challenge.

So Happy for You card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Verve Stamps
I mixed and matched a few patterned papers from an older Echo Park paper line on the cardfront.  In a nod to the striped pillows in the inspiration photo provided with this week's sketch, I started off with striped pattern covering most of the card base.  It's topped with a solid orange strip that runs the length of the card and a dotted blue strip that runs across the card.

I stamped the "so happy for you" sentiment from the Treasured Words set in navy ink on a fishtail flag strip, then adhered it to a light blue dotted panel using foam tape.  After layering the panel on the cardfront on an angle, I tucked a glittery gold die cut star underneath the top left edge of the fishtail flag panel, then added a pair of smaller stars on the opposite side of the panel.  A cheery orange twine bow at the top of the panel finished off the design.

Materials Used:
Treasured Words stamp set (Verve Stamps); Pumpkin Pie, Night of Navy, and Soft Sky cardstock (Stampin' Up!); gold glitter cardstock (Michaels); Little Boy designer papers (Echo Park); Memento Luxe Nautical Blue ink (Tsukineko); CutUps 3x3 Stars die (The Cat's Pajamas); Fishtail Flag Stax die (My Favorite Things); orange baker's twine (Divine Twine); corner rounder; foam tape
