Color Throwdown 295-Floral Thank You

It’s time for another Color Throwdown! Joan is our hostess this week and she's selected a color combination inspired by a pretty quilt—Bravo Burgundy, Melon Mambo, and Pretty in Pink.

Floral Thank You card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from WPlus9
I made a clean and simple floral design using the colors. My design ended up heavy on the neutrals—cream and kraft—with just a bit of each of the three challenge colors. I stamped a trio of different sized flowers using images from the WPlus9 Spring Blooms stamp set, mixing and matching the ink colors to get a different combination on each flower.

The flowers are adhered over a messy thread loop at the bottom of a strip of striped patterned paper. The paper’s colors are actually Melon Mambo-ish and kraft, but don’t look like that in the photo . . . I stamped the “thank you” sentiment from the Fresh Cut Florals set on a pink cardstock strip and adhered it to the cardfront, tucking one end underneath the flower arrangement. A trio of white sequins around the sentiment strip finished the design.

To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD295.

Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team, our new June guestie, Susie Moore, and this week’s guest star stamper, Diane Jaquay.
