A Pocketful of Thanks

Here's my card for the current Fusion challenge.  I was inspired by the colors and bold floral images in the inspiration photo, as well as the clean lines and shape of the dress.  I didn't use the sketch exactly, but I hope you can see how I was inspired by that, too.

A Pocketful of Thanks card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Paper Smooches
I used the Denim and Daisies stamp set from Paper Smooches for my card along with the coordinating Pocket dies. The pocket was die cut from blue cardstock--not a true "denim" color, but a blue that matched the color in the photo--then stamped with the stamp set's pocket outline image in white pigment ink.  In a nod to the dress's floral pattern, I stamped one of the set's solid flower images in red ink, then cut it out with one of the floral dies, also in the Pocket die set.  I adhered the pocket to a white panel, then added on the flower using dimensional dots.  It's positioned like the accent piece in the sketch, even though the pocket shape isn't exactly a triangle like the large panel in the sketch.  I topped the flower with a big black enamel dot at the center.

The "a pocketful of thanks" sentiment was stamped above the pocket using black ink.  I'm not thrilled with the placement, but it was the best fit of the several places I auditioned with the help of my Stamp-a-ma-jig panel.  I matted the panel on black cardstock for contrast, then adhered it to a bold red card base.
