Color Throwdown 300-Life Is an Adventure

It’s time for another Color Throwdown! Today marks our 300th--yes, 300th--challenge!  Isn't that amazing?  Vickie is our hostess this week and she’s chosen this vivid color palette—Baja Breeze, Night of Navy, and Pumpkin Pie. I used the colors along with the current Reverse Confetti Sketch for You to Try.

Life Is an Adventure card-designed by Lori Tecler-stamps from Reverse Confetti
I used the cute car image from Reverse Confetti's  Here We Go set to make a simple scene.  I used some chevron patterned paper for the sky, then added a strip of gray cardstock along the bottom of the panel to make the road.  The car was stamped in orange ink, then cut out with the matching dies. I used foam tape to adhere it to the scene.  I added in the wheels beneath the body of the car, studding the center of each one with a shiny silver brad.  To fill out the scene, I added a white felt cloud and an orange sun cut with a pinking circle die.  The set's "life is an adventure" sentiment was stamped beneath the car in white ink and heat embossed so it would really stand out.

After matting the panel on navy cardstock, I adhered the scene to a Baja Breeze card base with a strip of Pumpkin Pie cardstock along the right edge.  A narrow strip of navy cardstock helped to set the orange strip off from the rest of the cardfront.

To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD300.

Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team, our July guestie, Diane Jaquay, and this week’s guest star stamper, Jen Mitchell.
