I Think You're Brilliant

Here's my card for the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  I did a little heat embossing to put this one together.

I Think You're Brilliant card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Mama Elephant
I embossed one of the light bulbs from Mama Elephant's Lights Out stamp set in white embossing powder on a white cardstock panel.   I used a sponge dauber to dot yellow ink over the embossed bulb.  The embossed lines resisted the ink, giving the image a light bulb like glow.  I added the base to the bulb using silver ink, then used a ruler and fine tipped marker to draw a "string" so the bulb wasn't floating in mid-air.

I ran a strip of yellow cardstock along the bottom of the panel, then stamped the set's "I think you're brilliant" sentiment on the strip in black ink.  It's accented with a pair of silver brads.  The panel was matted on yellow cardstock, then adhered to a contrasting black card base.

Materials Used
Lights Out stamp set (Mama Elephant); Memento Tuxedo Black and Dandelion inks, Delicata Silvery Shimmer ink (Tsukineko); Lemon Drop cardstock (My Favorite Things); Basic Black (Stampin' Up!); white embossing powder (Michaels); silver brads (Joann)
