It's Your Day
Here's my card for this week's My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club sketch challenge. My version is just a little different from the actual layout, but that really wasn't my intent when I started out.
I used a bold striped patterned paper to cover most of a golden yellow card base. I topped the patterned paper panel with a teal cardstock strip, then added the "it's your day" sentiment strip on top. I like the sketched look of the lettering. It's stamped in navy blue, but it looks more teal-ish in this photo than it really is.
My original plan was to inlay a star inside of a circle and add that to the left of the sentiment. But, the sentiment was a little too long to do that, so I ended up just going with a gold star. It was adhered to the cardfront with foam tape for a little dimension.
Materials Used:
Chalkboard Greetings stamp set (My Favorite Things); Memento Luxe Nautical Blue ink (Tsukineko); Harvest Gold and Tropical Teal cardstock (Papertrey Ink); gold paper (Target); Cold Avocado Soup 6x6 paper pad (Jillibean Soup); stitched star die (Lil' Inker Designs); foam tape

Love the bright patterned stripes on the background. It really sets off that bold stamped sentiment and the star!
