For You, Lots of These

Here's my card for this week's sketch at Retro Sketches.  I stretched the square layout into a standard A2 size for this sweet love themed design.

Lots of These card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Lil' Inker Designs
I used a fishtail flag die to cut my two "tags," one from light pink cardstock and one from vellum.  I arranged a trio of die cut hearts on the pink one, using foam tape to pop up one of the hearts for dimension.  The "for you, lots of these" sentiment from the Lil' Inker Designs Of the Heart Sentiments set was stamped beneath the heart trio in white pigment ink and heat embossed to stand out.

The tags were layered over an aqua card base with a teal dotted cardstock panel and a delicate white paper doily.  I Felt like the top tag needed something to anchor it, so I played with a few different options.  After trying some twine across the top of the pink tag and not liking it, I ended up using some machine stitching. I have a love-hate relationship with the zig zag stitch on my sewing machine, so I was glad that this time, the stitching worked out okay.  I finished the design with a pair of rose enamel dots at the lower right side of the patterned paper panel.

Materials Used:
Of the Heart Sentiments stamp set and Of the Heart dies (Lil' Inker Designs); Memento Luxe Wedding Dress ink (Tsukineko); Aqua Mist cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Pink Pirouette cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Sunny Side 6x6 paper pad (Pebbles); Fishtail Flag Stax die (My Favorite Things); Snow embossing powder, rose enamel dots (Michaels); paper doily; sewing machine; foam tape
