Sending You Smiles

Here's my card for the current sketch at Retro Sketches.  I'm collecting cards for a Valentine's Day card drive for kids and this one will be perfect to include!

Sending You Smiles card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Lil' Inker Designs
I used a mail theme for the design.  The striped patterned paper panel reminds me of the classic airmail pattern.  Its neutral color scheme made it easy to stamp the "sending you smiles" sentiment from the Lil' Inker Designs Sending You set directly on the pattern in red pigment ink.  To go with the sentiment, I die cut a mini envelope from white cardstock and added a little heart accent.  It's adhered to the panel with foam tape.  I added a trio of red sequins for some sparkle.

After edging the patterned paper panel with a bit of paper doily, I adhered it to a kraft panel.  The kraft panel was layered on a red card base to tie everything together.

Materials Used:
Sending You stamp set, Mini Envelopes and Accessories dies (Lil' Inker Designs); Cherry ink (Avery Elle); Real Red cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Kraft cardstock (WPlus9); Collecting Moments 6x6 paper pad (Fancy Pants); red sequins (Michaels); white paper doily; foam tape
