TCP Tuesday 281-Watercolored Blooms
TCP Tuesday is back with a new challenge! This week's challenge is an inspiration challenge based on the fabulous photo collage seen in the graphic above.
Even though it's pretty wintery around here right now, the photo just screamed "spring" to me, so I inked up my Simple Blooms set for the challenge. I started out with a watercolor wash background on a piece of watercolor paper. After letting the paper dry (okay, I admit I wasn't patient and used my heat gun to speed the process along a bit), I stamped the flower image over the background. For a watercolor look to match the background, I colored directly on the stamp with distress markers, then misted the stamp with water before pressing it on to the paper. In keeping with the soft look of the rest of the card, I heat embossed one of the set's sentiments in the card's upper right corner in white embossing powder. I adhered the finished panel to a blue mat, then layered it on to a white card base.
Be sure to stop by the TCP blog for more inspiration and for all the details on how you can play along with the challenge. Challenge participants have a chance to win a generous Cat Cash prize and to be named the Swanky Stamper of the month, which earns you a slot in an upcoming TCP release blog hop!
Materials Used:
Simple Blooms stamp set (The Cat's Pajamas); Memento Luxe Wedding Dress ink (Tsukineko); Picked Raspberry and Mowed Lawn distress markers (Ranger); Hawaiian Shores cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Snow embossing powder, watercolor paper, watercolor set (Michaels)
