Hey There, Sunshine
Here's my card for this week's Viva la Verve sketch. With record cold temperatures and the highest snowfall total of the season over the past several days, a sunshine themed card was definitely in order!
I stamped Verve's "hey there, sunshine" Plain Jane in orange ink on a cream panel. To go with the sentiment, I fashioned a sun from a pair of die cuts and adhered it to the upper left corner of the panel. The panel was matted on a kraft scalloped rectangle.
I edged a piece of patterned paper edged with narrow orange cardstock strips matching the sun, then attached a lemon yellow fishtail flag strip to the panel. The sentiment panel was added on top. I wrapped the panel with twine, securing it with a bow, then adhered the finished panel to a cream card base.
Materials Used:
Sunshine Plain Jane (Verve Stamps); Mimosa ink (Avery Elle); Summer Sunrise and Lemon Tart cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Kraft cardstock (WPlus9); Sweet Day 6x6 paper pad (Echo Park); Fishtail Flag Stax die (My Favorite Things); Pinking Circle, Rectangle, and Scalloped Rectangle dies (Spellbinders); circle punch (EK Success); Swiss Dot embossing folder (Cuttlebug); twine (Hemptique)
