You Anchor Me

This week's Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge is a designer draft challenge using the sketch seen above. I flipped the sketch to come up with this nautical themed card.

You Anchor Me card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Paper Smooches
I stamped the sailboat from the Wicked Nauticool set on a matching panel die cut with the Nauticool dies, then colored the image with Copic markers.  To make water for the boat, I used the scallop die from the Borders 2 set to die cut striped navy patterned paper and a solid navy cardstock mat.  The die cut panels and sail boat were adhered to a kraft card base.  I stamped the set's "you anchor me" sentiment on the card base next to the boat in red pigment ink, then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.  The little cloud, cut with a die from the Spectrum Icons set, was a last minute addition just before I photographed this card.  It worked perfectly!

Materials Used:
Wicked Nauticool stamp set, Nauticool, Spectrum Icons and Borders 2 dies (Paper Smooches); Memento Tuxedo Black ink and Memento Luxe Love Letter ink (IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko);

Night of Navy and Shimmery White cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Kraft cardstock (WPlus9); Dots and Stripes-Metropolitan 6x6 paper pad (Echo Park); markers (Copic); clear embossing powder (Michaels); foam tape

  1. Love how you pieced the two tones of paper together to create the water! Very clever!
