The Challenge 27-Celebrate New Beginnings

The Challenge is back with a new sketch and color combination!  You can choose to use just the sketch, just the colors, or to combine them both on your card. I used both the sketch and the colors on this cheery design.

New Beginnings card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Lil' Inker Designs
I did a very literal interpretation of the sketch, using a butterfly die from Lil' Inker Designs.  To add interest, I die cut the butterfly twice--once from pink cardstock, then a second time from white vellum. I adhered just the center of the vellum butterfly to the pink one, allowing me to bend back the wings for dimension.  A trio of tiny pearls along the center of the vellum butterfly hides the adhesive (clever, right?)

The butterfly was adhered to a white cardstock panel over a pair of fishtail flag strips.  I accented the butterfly with a trio of different sized lime green enamel dots around it.  The "celebrate new beginnings" sentiment from the Spring Sentiments set was stamped at the bottom of the panel in gray pigment ink.  I layered the finished panel on a pink card base.
