You're Pawsitively Awesome
Here's my card for this week's My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge. I used some pretty bold and busy patterned paper along with the sweet dog-themed You Have My Heart stamp set for my design.
I stamped the girl and dog image on white cardstock, then colored it in with Copic markers. After matting the image on green cardstock, I adhered it to a multicolored floral patterned paper panel. The set's "you're pawsitively awesome" sentiment was stamped on a double-ended fishtail flag strip (made with a little creative die cutting!) and attached to the panel just beneath the image.
I adhered the patterned paper panel to green card base, then added a strip of green houndstooth patterned paper (from the reverse side of the floral paper) to fill in the cardfront. I hid the seam between the two papers with a narrow strip of yellow cardstock rescued from my scrap pile. A trio of yellow enamel dots set just above the yellow cardstock strip added a final pop of contrasting bright color.
Materials Used:
You Have my Heart stamp set, Sour Apple and Lemon Drop cardstock, Die-namics Fishtail Flag Stax die (My Favorite Things); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko); markers (Copic); Flower Box 6x6 paper pad (Doodlebug Design); yellow enamel dots (My Mind's Eye); corner rounder
