The Challenge 32-Welcome Baby

The Challenge is back again with a new challenge!  Next up in our new format is a theme challenge.  This week we're focusing on polka dots--fun!

Welcome Baby card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Clear and Simple StampsWe held a baby shower at my school last week and I put together this sweet card to go along with the gift that my team gave to the mother-to-be. The card was inspired by the adorable bedding set we got her from Target.  I used the Baby Shower dies from Clear and Simple Stamps to make the animals.  They were adhered to a blue panel over some die cut strips of grass using foam tape for dimension.  The eyes for the giraffe and elephant were made with tiny enamel dots.  I didn't have a dot small enough for the bird, so I used an irRESISTible Pico Embellisher to make its eye.

To bring in some more dots, I used a dotted embossing folder to make a debossed dot pattern on a small circle.  I layered the circle over a pinking edged circle to form a sun.  The sun was set in the upper right corner of the panel and topped with a cloud cut from shimmery white cardstock.  I stamped the "welcome baby" sentiment from the Baby Sentiments set in gray ink in the panel's open space, then adhered it to a gray card base.

Don't miss what the rest of The Challenge team has created for this week's challenge.  Here's where to find them:
