Poppy Birthday

Here's my card for the current Viva la Verve sketch.  I needed an easy to mail birthday card, so I used one of my favorite Verve sets, Poppy Birthday, to put this one together.

Happy Birthday card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Verve Stamps
I used the poppy stamps and matching Build a Poppy dies to make a trio of yellow poppies.  To go with the poppies, I found a piece of green leaf patterned paper.  After adhering the patterned paper to a lemon yellow card base to match the poppies, I added a green cardstock strip across the card.  I stamped the "happy birthday" sentiment from the Small Packages set in green pigment ink on a white panel and matted it with lemon yellow cardstock, then adhered it to the right side of the cardfront.  The flowers were arranged around the sentiment panel, using foam tape for dimension. I used the die set to cut a few small leaves and tucked them underneath the flowers.  The card's ready to go in the mail with a few days to spare!

Materials Used:
Poppy Birthday and Small Packages stamp sets, Build a Poppy dies (Verve Stamps); Memento Luxe Dandelion, Pear Tart, and Tuxedo Black inks (IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko); Lemon Tart cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Sour Apple cardstock (My Favorite Things); Jack and Jill "How Sweet It Is" Yummy Stripe designer paper (My Mind's Eye); foam tape
