Birthday Blocks

I'm joining the Monthly Meetup at Lil' Inker Designs with this fun birthday card based on the current sketch at CAS(e) this Sketch.  Lil Inker's party hat dies helped me put this festive design together in no time at all.

Party Hat birthday card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Lil' Inker Designs
I die cut the hats from two shades of blue cardstock, then assembled them and added a shiny silver topper to each hat.  The hats were adhered over four contrasting red cardstock squares arranged on a white cardstock panel.  To add to the festive feel, I made a messy thread pile behind the hats using some silver thread.  The "happy birthday" sentiment from the Balloon Builders set was stamped just beneath the squares in black ink.  I adhered the finished panel to a coordinating aqua card base.

Materials Used:
Balloon Builders stamp set, Party Hats dies (Lil' Inker Designs); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko); Real Red cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Sea Glass cardstock (Avery Elle); Hawaiian Shores cardstock (Papertrey Ink); silver paper (Target); square punch (EK Success); silver thread (Michaels); foam tape
