I'm So Glad
It's finally June (something we teachers look forward to saying all school year!), so I thought it was time to start thinking about Father's Day cards. I used the current Viva la Verve sketch and a "vintage" Verve set, Father Figure, to put this one together.
Sketches like this one that require piecing together a bunch of panels like a puzzle are always a challenge for me. I ended up using an older paper pad with lots of different sized scraps so I could mix and match more easily. Once I settled on an arrangement, I put the pieces together on a cream panel to cover my little measurement mishap.
I used my new MISTI stamping tool to stamp the sentiment. I probably didn't need to use it here, but it was fun to play with it againg! Once I'd finished stamping, I adhered a scrap of khaki twill across the cardfront for some texture. The finished panel was adhered to a kraft card base. I'm thinking I may go back and add a pair of copper brads to the twill as an accent . . .
Materials Used:
Father Figure stamp set (Verve Stamps); Memento Luxe Rich Cocoa ink (IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko); Blink of an Eye Six by Six paper pad (My Mind's Eye); khaki twill (Martha Stewart)
