It's time for another Color Throwdown! Tammy is our hostess and she's shared a fun color combination for us to try out--lime green, mint green, light gray, and dark gray.
I finally got brave and tried out my new Clean Color markers on my card for the challenge. The sweet elephant and party hat from the WPlus9 Unforgettable stamp set were stamped in black ink on watercolor paper and heat embossed, then watercolored with the markers. It's definitely going to take me some practice to get the hang of using these markers! I used regular watercolors to add a sky/grass backdrop for the elephant. For a bit of sparkle and interest, I arranged a trio of silver sequins around the elephant.
The image was matted on contrasting dark gray cardstock, then on a lime green cardstock panel. I adhered the panels to a minty green card base, then added the sentiment, stamped on light gray cardstock, on top.
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD352. If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the hashtag #ctd352 and #colorthrowdown. You can find us on Instagram (and on Facebook!) with the username colorthrowdown.
Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team, our July guestie, Valentyna Komisarenko, and this week’s guest star stamper, Dawn Easton.
