Oh Crab-Sneaky Peek Week Continues!
Sneaky Peek Week at The Cat's Pajamas continues today with your first look at the fun new Seas the Birthday set. This set is one of six brand new stamp sets that will be available for purchase on Tuesday, July 28, along with five new CutUps die sets, and two new Cutables cut files .
I used the set along with the CutUps Long Tall Pop Up die that's part of the upcoming release to make a fun, interactive ocean themed birthday card. Being a Marylander, I couldn't resist using the crab image and matching sentiment.
I made a little beach scene for the front of the card. Some blue dotted patterned paper forms a backdrop. I added a pair of shimmery white clouds, cut with the CutUps Stitched Clouds dies, and an orange felt pinking circle sun I salvaged from my scrap pile. The sandy shore was made from torn strips of kraft cardstock brushed with some white pigment ink. I added a few gold sequins for sparkle, then adhered the "oh crab" sentiment to the right side of the cardfront.
For the inside, I used the new CutUps Long Tall Pop Up die to cut the pop up tabs in a piece of light blue cardstock. To make a sandy base, I adhered a piece of kraft cardstock to the bottom half of the cut cardstock. I die cut a pair of waves from aquamarine cardstock using the CutUps Wavy Stitched Border die. I stamped the rest of the birthday sentiment on one of the waves, then adhered them to one of the pop up tabs, using foam tape to separate the two die cut strips. I colored the crab image with Copic markers, then used foam tape to add it to the second tab. Too fun!
