Sweet Peek Week continues today at SugarPea Designs with a look at the brand new Anchored stamp set. I used the set to come up with two clean and simple designs featuring the same mix of images.
First, I paired the set with this week’s sketch at RetroSketches to come up with this nautical themed design. I started out with a wide striped patterned paper panel with a nautical feel. The crisp white sentiment panel was adhered to the middle of the striped paper. I stamped the “your love is my anchor” sentiment in navy pigment ink at the center of the panel. The set’s anchor image was stamped to the left of the sentiment in gray pigment ink. I accented the words and image with a tiny heart from the Special Delivery set. After several failed attempts at tying a nautical-style knot, I gave up and wrapped the left side of the patterned paper with some black twine, securing it with a much simpler bow. I adhered the patterned paper to a red cardstock panel cut with one of the new SugarCuts Zig Zag Stitched Rectangle dies. The die cut piece was the exact same size as an A2 card front, so to finish the card, I simply adhered the panel to a precut white card base.
And, here's my second card, based on the current sketch at CAS(e) this Sketch. I stamped the anchor image in gray ink across a white panel, staggering the placement of the anchors. I wanted the anchors to be a super pale gray, so after inking the stamp, I stamped the image off once on scrap paper before stamping on my white panel. The sentiment was stamped across the line of anchors in contrasting red ink. The red really pops against the anchor images! I added a tiny red heart next to the sentiment as an accent. The finished panel was matted on red cardstock, then adhered to a navy card base.
