Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 278-Happy Birthday
It's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge! I love this week's layout, but I'm not too thrilled with how my card turned out . . .
I made a birthday card using stamps and dies from My Favorite Things and incorporated the MFT Summer School lesson on the gallon/pint/quart rule. Here, my "gallon" color was green, my "pint" color was gray, and my "quart" color was lemon yellow.
I covered a green card base with a piece of green patterned paper. The "happy birthday" sentiment was stamped in green ink using a combination of sentiments from two different sets. My MISTI made it super easy to line up the text perfectly! I matted the sentiment with yellow cardstock, then adhered it to the cardfront. The gray pierced circle and pierced fishtail flag die cuts were tucked underneath the top and bottom edges of the sentiment. After playing around with a bunch of ideas, including sequins and enamel dots, I settled on adding a die cut star to the half circle as an accent.
To play along, just create a card based on the sketch and link it up on the SSSC blog. Be sure to stop by the blog to check out what the SSSC team has created using the sketch. And, don't forget to check in on Wednesday to see one of our favorite cards made with the sketch.
