Talk Nerdy to Me
Here's my card for this week's sketch at Retro Sketches. I used stamps and dies from SugarPea Designs to put this one together.
I stamped the "talk nerdy to me" sentiment from the I Like Big Books set in red pigment ink on a pierced circle die cut, then layered the panel on kraft. To go with the nerd theme, I die cut a pair of eyeglasses from black cardstock using the SugarCuts Brainy Bookmarks die set, then adhered them to the sentiment panel using foam tape.
I found piece of patterned paper with multicolored eyeglasses to go with my die cut eyeglasses. After edging the patterned paper with contrasting red cardstock, I adhered it to a pale gray card base. I adhered a strip of blue cardstock diagonally across the cardfront, then added the sentiment panel on top. I accented it with a tiny red heart.
Materials Used:
I Like Big Books stamp set, SugarCuts Brainy Bookmarks dies (SugarPea Designs); Memento Luxe Rhubarb Stalk ink (IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko); Cherry Cobbler and Baja Breeze cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Kraft cardstock (WPlus9); Grout Gray cardstock, Die-namics Pierced Circle Stax die (My Favorite Things); Cut and Paste-Flair 6x6 paper pad (My Mind's Eye); circle die (Spellbinders); heart die (Lil' Inker Designs); foam tape
