You Make Every Day Cooler
Here's my card for this week's My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge. I pulled out my Penguins in Paradise set again for this summery design.
I used the sketch's large circle to make a sky and grass background, combining pieces of blue and green zig zag stitched circle die cuts to make one large circle. The top of the green piece was punched with a grass border die to add interest. The penguin image was colored with Copic markers and adhered to the panel using foam tape.
I attached the panel to a piece of yellow dotted paper that was adhered to a golden yellow card base, then added the sentiment strip across the card. It's edged along the bottom with a narrow strip of orange cardstock for a little pop of color. I brought in a bit more orange with the tiny scalloped circle sun adhered to the top of the image panel with foam tape.
Materials Used:
Penguins in Paradise stamp set, Die-namics Penguins in Paradise dies, Dots and Stripes Sorbet 6x6 paper pad (My Favorite Things); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko); Aquamarine ink (Avery Elle); markers (Copic); Harvest Gold, Simply Chartreuse, and Hawaiian Shores cardstock, Orange Zest patterned paper (Papertrey Ink); Pumpkin Pie cardstock (Stampin' Up!); SugarCuts-Zig Zag Stitched Circle dies (SugarPea Designs); scalloped circle punch (Martha Stewart); foam tape
