You Warm My Heart

Here's my card for the current sketch at Retro Sketches.  I'm loving these sweet winter wear dies from My Favorite Things and thought they'd be perfect for the layout's trio of elements.

I die cut the hat and mittens from light purple cardstock, then stamped the matching decorative image on the die cuts using dark purple ink.  The mittens were strung together with a piece of twine and the hat was topped with a shimmery white cardstock pom pom.

I covered a blue card base with a pale blue cardstock panel and a narrow strip of snowflake patterned paper.  The light blue panel was broken up a bit with a narrow strip of purple grosgrain ribbon.  The ribbon helped to tie the card's color scheme together.  The die cuts were arranged over the panels, using foam tape for dimension.  I stamped the "you warm my heart" sentiment from the Hug in a Mug set on the light blue panel in purple ink, then scattered a few white sequins around the panel for a bit of sparkle.

Materials Used:
Winter Warmth and Hug in a Mug stamp sets, Die-Namics Winter Warmth dies (My Favorite Things); Memento Grape Jelly ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Almost Amethyst, Brocade Blue, Bashful Blue, and Shimmery White cardstock, purple grosgrain ribbon (Michaels); Frosty Friends 6x6 paper pad (Doodlebug Design); twine (Hemptique); white sequins; foam tape
