Birthday Fishes
This month's Paper Smooches challenge is to create a card using 4 colors. I went with light aqua, turquoise, orange and yellow for my birthday themed design.
The layout is loosely based on the current sketch at CAS(e) this Sketch. I created a watery backdrop using a piece of grid patterned paper topped with a cardstock strip randomly punched along the top with two different size circle punches to make waves. I edged the strip with orange cardstock to help it stand out, then stamped the "birthday fishes" sentiment from the Birthday Buddies set on the wavy strip in black ink. The set's fish image was colored with Copic markers, then coated with a bit of clear Wink of Stella for a subtle sparkle. I adhered it to the panel using foam tape, then added a sparkly silver trail behind the jumping fish.
Materials Used:
Birthday Buddies stamp set, Buddies Icons dies (Paper Smooches); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Hawaiian Shores cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Orange Zest cardstock (My Favorite Things); Recollections Aqua Screen designer paper, clear crystal flourish (Michaels); clear Wink of Stella pen (Zig); circle punches (EK Success); foam tape
