Udderly Amazing

After five years of living in the dairy state, I can't resist a cow-themed pun!  I love the cute cow image from the Everyday Is Christmas set from SugarPea Designs.  Yes, this set is Christmas themed, but when you pair it with the Feeling Sentimental set, it's perfect for all sorts of occasions year round.

You're Udderly Amazing card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from SugarPea DesignsHere, I used the cow on a tag to form the focal image of my card.  The layout is based on a recent SugarPea Designs sketch challenge--check them out every Wednesday on the SPD blog!  The cow was colored with Copic markers, then cut out with the matching die from the SugarCuts-Everyday Is Christmas die set .  I die cut a cream tag using the SugarCuts-Gift Tag die, then added the cow to the tag using foam tape.  The "you're udderly amazing" sentiment was stamped beneath it.  I looped a red ribbon scrap through the hole at the top of the tag and secured it with a twine bow for a finished look.

Something about a gingham pattern says "farm" to me, so I found a brown gingham patterned paper in my stash for the two panels beneath the tag.  The patterned paper was matted on coordinating dark brown paper to set it off from the kraft background.  I adhered a narrow strip of red grosgrain ribbon across the panel, then topped it with the tag.  A pair of hearts, die cut with the SugarCuts-Heart Journal Card set and placed at the bottom of the tag, completed the design.
