Baby in Blue

Last week, I made a girly pink baby card to share on the SugarPea Designs blog.  I thought I'd give equal time to boys, so I made a baby boy card for this week!

Baby Boy card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from SugarPea Designs
The layout is based on the current sketch at RetroSketches.  It features a bunch of layers and was great for using up a bunch of scraps!  I used the word "baby" from the SugarCuts Baby Diaper Pin die set as my focal image.  The word was die cut several times from blue gray cardstock.  I layered the pieces, then adhered the stacked piece to a white circle.  The "boy" sentiment from the Welcome Baby set was stamped just beneath the die cut word in gray pigment ink.

Once the sentiment panel was complete, I mixed and matched several different papers behind it.  I finally settled on a mix of solid, metallic and patterned.  I arranged those over a blue gray circle cut with one of the SugarCuts Zig Zag Stitched Circles dies. The layered focal image was adhered to a piece of dotted patterned paper.  I added a tiny aqua circle with a safety pin die cut and a pair of long, narrow banner strips to the panel to finish the design.

Be sure to check out the creations that some of my other SPD teammates are sharing today on their blogs:
