Color Throwdown 388-You're the Best

It's time for another Color Throwdown!  Lynn is our challenge hostess this week and chose a great color palette--yellow, blue, green, and white.

You're the Best card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Reverse Confetti
Teacher appreciation week is coming up in just a few weeks, so I decided to make a card that would be perfect to give to a hard working teacher (I know more than a few of them myself!).  The layout is based on the current sketch at RetroSketches.  I used Reverse Confetti's Class Act stamp set and coordinating dies to make a pair of apples.  Each apple was adhered to a layered cardstock strip on a striped yellow panel.  I love the mix of dots (on the apples) and stripes!  The third cardstock strip was stamped with the "you're the best" sentiment from the Fancy Word Coordinates set.  The actual sentiment reads "you're the bestest," but I thought that it would be best"est" to use something grammatically correct for a card for a teacher--LOL!  I accented the strips with some white enamel dots, then layered the panel on to a green card base.

To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD388. If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the hashtag #ctd388 and #colorthrowdown. You can find us on Instagram (and on Facebook!) with the username colorthrowdown.

Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team, our April guestie Amy Rohl, and this week's Guest Star Stamper, Channin.

  1. Love that you used the apples in yellow! I tend to always use red, but this works well, too!
