What's Up, Dog?
Here's my card for this week's My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge. I paired two Birdie Brown dog themed stamp sets with the sketch.
The card is built on a gray card base covered with a piece of pale blue grid patterned paper. I used a strip of wood plank patterned paper for the strip across the cardfront, forming a fence. Instead of leaving some of the blue paper showing beneath the fence, I used a border punch to make a strip of green "grass" to run beneath the fence. I stamped one of the dogs from the You Make My Tail Wag set and colored it with Copic markers, then cut it out. It was carefully positioned to look like it was peering over the fence. Foam tape behind it gives the dog a bit of dimension.
I stamped the "what's up, dog?" sentiment from the Lucky Dog set on a narrow fishtail flag strip. The strip was adhered to the cardfront with foam tape. That allowed me to tuck a flat bottomed cloud die cut behind it. Another cloud and a golden yellow pinking circle die cut sun completed the scene.
Materials Used:
You Make My Tail Wag and Lucky Dog stamp sets, Cement Gray cardstock, Die-namics Fishtail Flag STAX and Flat Bottom Cloud dies (My Favorite Things); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Kiwi Kiss and Shimmery White cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Sea Glass cardstock (Avery Elle); Harvest Gold cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Recollections Aqua Screen designer paper (Michaels); Lakeside 6x6 paper pad (Pebbles); Pinking Circle dies (Spellbinders); Grass border punch (Fiskars); foam tape
