Birthday Fun

I put together this simple, fun birthday card based on the current sketch from Global Design Challenge.  The patterned paper did most of the work on this one!

Happy Birthday card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Paper Smooches
After I decided to make a birthday card, my challenge was finding a fun patterned paper for the cardfront.  I settled on one from an Echo Park paper pad.  The mix of colors, words, numerals, and fonts was great for building a card around!  I edged the patterned paper with red cardstock, then adhered it directly to a cream card base.  The kraft panels on either side of the patterned paper were adhered using foam tape for dimension.  I added the sentiment panel on top, using more foam tpae.  The "happy birthday" I used is from the Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler set--a great all-around sentiment set.  I accented it with a bunch of red enamel dots in a mix of sizes.

Materials Used:
Sentiment Sampler stamp set, Flag Tags dies (Paper Smooches); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Poppy Parade and Baja Breeze cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Kraft cardstock (Papertrey Ink); That's My Boy 6x6 paper pad (Echo Park); red enamel dots (Eyelet Outlet); foam tape
